A Corinthian pottery lidded pyxis
Circa 630-620 B.C.
The knopped lid decorated in umber with concentric bands of tongues, rosettes, encircling lines, and chequered pattern, the straight walls of the cylindrical body decorated with horizontal bands of zigzag, chequered pattern and flaring petals, with a pair of horizontal handles beneath the rim, 8.8cm high incl. lid, 15.6cm diam. incl. handles
