A Sumerian terracotta cuneiform foundation cone, a Sumerian terracotta cuneiform tablet, and two Babylonian terracotta tablets
Circa 3rd Millennium B.C.
The foundation cone inscribed with ten columns of cuneiform text for Gudea, the ruler of Lagash, concerning the rebuilding of the temple of Eninnu for the god Ningirsu, Second Dynasty of Lagash, circa 2141-2122 B.C., 7.6cm high; the Sumerian tablet with fourteen lines of text on each side, a receipt for quantities of barley (?), dating to the third year of Amar-Sin, circa 2046-2037 B.C., 6.3cm high; and two Babylonian cuneiform tablets, each with unreadable texts, 4.8cm and 4.4cm high (4)
