The sculpture of a boy with a goose was originally created by the sculptor Boethus of Chalcedon in the second century B.C. The Roman Emperor Nero transported the original to his palace in Rome, where he had it copied. What survives today in Munich's Glyptothek is the Roman copy of the original.
