A CARVED JADEITE BUDDHA'S HAND PENDENT

Designed as a buddha's hand with a 'ruyi', signifying blessings of peace, the double-sided translucent carved jadeite plaque of intense emerald green colour, topped by a platinum hoop; jadeite measures approximately 50.7 x 24.3 x 9.4mm; mounted in platinum; length 6.1cm

The Buddha's hand is an extension of Chinese traditional Buddhist culture. Buddha is a lasting symbol of blessing, security and longevity, while His fingers carries the blessing of having many offsprings.

This jadeite pendant offered here is expertly carved with smooth lines, capturing the Buddha's charismatic fingers, so dignified, plump and full of kindness. Of intense emerald green colour, the crystal of this jadeite is fine and very translucent. With a 'ruyi' in His palm and a bat carving to the top, capturing simple happiness and good fortune.

翡翠佛手是中國傳統佛教文化的延伸，有諸多美好的寓意。因「佛」與「福」諧音，寓意得到佛的保佑、福壽美滿，另外「手」與「壽」及「守」諧音，寓意手到財來，被譽為福氣之手。另外，佛手多指，「指」與「子」諧音，有昔日傳統觀念多子孫、多福氣之意。所以，翡翠佛手是一種福氣，象徵吉祥如意。此件翡翠佛手手型自然栩栩如生，線條流暢、優美。手指修長、端莊、豐腴，充滿善意。翡翠佛手玉質溫潤細膩，色澤碧瀅，手心緊握如意，雕刻上蝙蝠，有抓福之意，寓意福壽如意。
