Each set with an octagonal step-cut emerald, weighing 5.43 and 5.26 carats, accented by marquise-cut diamonds; estimated total diamond weight 1.50 carats; mounted in 18k white gold; length 1.6cm

Accompanied by two Gübelin reports stating that emeralds originate from Colombia, green colour, with no indications of clarity enhancement. Also accompanied by an Information Sheet stating that the formation of emeralds results in fissures and fractures throughout the stone due to significant mechanical strain. While filling foreign substance can enhance the transparency of the emerald, the emerald described did not show any indications of clarity enhancement. Report #20121074 and 20121075, both dated 18 December 2020.

Lauded as amongst the world's most desirable gemstones, emeralds have a history dating back to ancient civilisations in Asia, Africa and South America, with the first known emerald mines discovered from as early as the third century BC in Egypt. From these ancient mines in Egypt through to the discovery of deposits in Colombian in the mid-16th century, emeralds have long been prized and used as symbols of wealth and status. Colombian emeralds, with their characteristic bluish green colour, are deemed the purest in the world, and these examples which are free from any form of treatment or enhancement, otherwise known in the trade as 'no oil', are exceptionally rare.
