Robert Brackman was awarded the J. Sanford Saltus Medal for Merit in Painting during the National Academy of Design's One-Hundred Fifteenth Annual Exhibition in 1941 for Arrangement in Morning Light. The award is given solely on the basis on the merit of a work of art alone.
