Footnotes

十八世紀 牙雕仕女立像

The present lot is rare, for while there are numerous carvings of ladies and female Immortals, few are carved with concealed small 'lotus feet' underneath. See a related stained ivory figure of a lady, 19th century, illustrated by R.Kerr, Chinese Ivory Carvings: The Sir Victor Sassoon Collection, London, 2016, p.292, no.T111.
