of globular form on a splayed foot, the flaring neck with flattened rim, engraved and decorated in copper inlay with roundels containing the signs of the zodiac, above a band of cartouches with vines and lions chasing gazelles, below a band of inscriptions in kufic, below the rim with a band of inscription in naskhi interspersed by crescent roundels, the rim with cartouches filled with inscriptions in kufic, the underside of the foot with scrolling vines

The engraving on the present lot is exceptionally fine and extends to beneath the foot, which is uncommon.
