of convex circular form with everted rim, mounted with four steel bosses of domed form and a crescent, all surrounded by palmette motifs and inlaid in gold with floral decoration, four copper rings to reverse

This shield is a rare example of the tarneshan technique where gold is inlaid rather than overlaid as in koftgari work.
