Egypt or Syria, 19th/ 20th Century

with tapering sides on a round base with slightly everted rim, decorated in silver inlay with a band of inscription-filled cartouches interspersed by lobed roundels filled with interlaced split-plamettes, above and below bands of geometric interlace, interlaced split-palmettes near foot, an undulating vine near rim, engraved inscription to well
27.5 cm. diam.
