Two Qajar silver bazuband amulet cases
Persia, 18th/ 19th Century

of circular form with hinged lid, hinged loops and clasp, both profusely engraved with a central roundel containing a lobed cartouche with foliate vines, the first surrounded by a band containing inscriptions in naskhi, the second with concentric bands containing inscriptions in nakshi, the borders with further bands of inscription in nakshi, the reverse with a central openwork flowerhead
5.5 cm. and 6 cm. diam.(2)
