of rectangular form, the black velvet ground embroidered in polychrome silk and silver thread with a mihrab containing a large floral spray issuing from an urn, above an inscription-filled cartouche flanked by hands, the spandrels with split-palmettes, the border with a scrolling floral vine, backed with woven silk edging, old collection label to reverse with inscription written in pen '8 5 11 / 5.12.12. / KING'
