Private Collection, U.K.

Exhibited
London, Lefevre Gallery, New Paintings by Duncan Grant, May 1934, cat.no.48

This work belongs to a group of four or five paintings made by Grant on a short visit to the Lizard Peninsular, Cornwall, in April 1934. They were included in his one-person exhibition of new paintings held at Reid & Lefevre in May 1934. Others in the exhibition from this Cornish visit included The Harbour Office and Flushing, both at Falmouth, and Cadgwith Cove, which is almost certainly the location of the present work.

We are grateful to Richard Shone for compiling this catalogue entry.
