PROVENANCE
Warlayirti Artists, Balgo Hills, Western Australia (cat. 128/02)
Private collection, Melbourne

This painting is accompanied by Warlayirti Artists documentation that reads: "Eubena has painted some of her traditional country which is south west of Balgo. Walmarlajarbu is a series of rockholes close to Kunawarritji, along the middle and upper stretches of the Canning Stock Route. The white paint indicates the travels of the marlu or kangaroo in the Tjukurrpa or Dreamtime. These marlu drank from the rockholes of Walmarlajarbu. The majority of the painting shows the tali, or sand dunes which dominate the landscape of the area. Eubena walked around this country hunting goannas as a young girl and used to rest at the top of the dunes."
