the hand-painted pencil, watercolour and gouache costume designs featuring showgirl 'Doreen' wearing a strapless black dress with colourful lining and matching headpiece, signed and dated by the artist to the bottom right, mounted, framed and glazed; together with a second smaller design of 'Doreen' in a pink and black sheer dress, unsigned, unframed, signed: 6 3/4in x 11 3/4in (17cm x 30cm); unsigned: 3 3/4in x 12in (9.5cm x 30.5cm) (2)

Footnotes

Doreen Dale was successor to Head Girl Laurel Grey. In the 1960's, she herself a dancer was promoted to the executive echelons.
