1950's,
the hand-painted pencil, watercolour and gouache costume designs featuring a showgirl in a white corset with bustle skirt, long gloves and headpiece for the Ascot No. as annotated in pencil; the other featuring a showgirl in a white and silver off-the-shoulder dress and matching headpiece, both unsigned, both mounted, framed and glazed, fist; 7in x 16 1/4in (17.5cm x 42cm), second; 7in x 16 1/2in (17.5cm x 42cm) (2)

Footnotes

More of Cobb's more sophisticated designs, similar to the glamour encapsulated in a Horst P. Horst model from Vogue in the 1950's, or inspired by a Cecil Beaton costume design, most likely based on the Ascot scene from his 'My Fair Lady'.
