A Meissen model of a parrot, circa 1740

Modelled by J.J. Kaendler, naturalistically modelled and coloured in shades of green, red, blues and pale yellow, 14.2cm high, faint crossed swords mark in blue (restoration to feathers)

Kaendler modelled a variety of parrots around the same time - another example of the present lot is illustrated by Rainer Rückert, Meissener Porzellan 1710-1810 (1966), no. 1083.
