A Meissen part tea and coffee service, circa 1730

Finely painted in Schwarzlot or black monochrome with Kauffahrtei scenes depicting merchants and their wares by a quayside and figures in European landscapes, within gilt scrollwork cartouches filled with Böttger lustre and edged with purple trellis panels and foliate scrollwork, the sugar box and domed covers with a continuous scene, further painted with purple sprays of indianische Blumen, gilt borders of overlapping scales with dots, comprising:
a coffee pot and cover;
a teapot and cover;
an oval sugar bowl and cover;
a waste bowl;
four teabowls and saucers, the coffee pot: 19.8cm high, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue and gilding (waste bowl), the coffee pot unmarked, all with gilt numeral 96., incised / inside footrims the waste bowl restuck with small area filled in (15)
