A Meissen double-handled beaker and saucer, circa 1730

Decorated with Kauffahrtei scenes in puce camaieu within gilt scrollwork cartouches filled with Boettger lustre and edged with iron-red and puce scrolls, gilt scroll- and strapwork borders to the rims, the handles gilt, three iron-red concentric circles to reverse of saucer, the beaker: 7cm high; the saucer: 14cm diam., crossed swords marks in blue enamel (saucer) and underglaze-blue (beaker), gilt numeral 8. to both, incised / inside footrim of saucer (2)
