A Meissen teapot and cover, circa 1725-28

Each side painted with a chinoiserie scene depicting figures engaged in various pursuits, the details heightened with gilding, surrounded by gilt scrollwork cartouches filled with Böttger lustre and edged with iron-red and purple scrolls, sprays of indianische Blumen flanking the spout and handle, a gilt strapwork border under the rim, the cover with a continuous chinoiserie scene, 13cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue (some areas of retouching to gilding) (2)
