A Meissen Hausmaler saucer, the porcelain circa 1735, the decoration slightly later

Depicting 'The Rape of Proserpina', Pluto embracing a struggling Proserpina in a horse-drawn chariot, within a gilt rim, 13.5cm diam, crossed swords in underglaze-blue (minimal rubbing to gilt rim, small restored chip to the rim)

Footnotes

The fine decoration and classical subject matter of this saucer could be associated with Ignaz Bottengruber. Some details, such as the treatment of the clouds and the hound and the stippled shadows seem in congruence with work traditionally attributed to him.
