A Meissen silver-gilt-mounted coffee pot and cover, circa 1725

The pear-shaped body with a scroll handle, each side finely painted with a chinoiserie scene within a gilt scrollwork cartouche with panels of Böttger lustre and edged with iron-red and purple scrollwork, indianische Blumen and insects below the spout and handle, the handle embellished with gilt scrollwork and indianische Blumen, the rim with a border of gilt strap- and scrollwork, the domed cover with vignettes depicting a seated chinoiserie figure, a peacock and other birds and flowers, gilt finial, the silver-gilt mount with a scroll thumbpiece, marked for Elias Adam, Augsburg, 21.5cm high, gilt numeral 28. to both (very minor wear to gilding)
