A pair of Frankenthal figures of dancers, circa 1766
The gentleman wearing a plumed turban with a silvered crown, a lavender fur-lined cloak with gilt striped, a jacket with gilt flowers and a wide tunic with gilt stripes and a sword at the front, puce breeches and salmon-pink boots, she with a laced bodice, purple-striped skirt and apron decorated with green flowers, the grassy bases moulded with gilt-edged scrollwork, 16.8cm and 16cm high, crowned CT monograms and AB in underglaze-blue, with a additional 6 on the female figure, he incised S2, red-painted MAK inventory numbers Ke 7496.28697 (him) and Ke 7497.28698 (her) (two plumes restuck, sword handle broken off, her hat chipped) (2)
