A Vienna, Sorgenthal, cup and saucer, circa 1809

Decorated with a matte dark-blue ground with gilt trophies, the saucer with a view of soldiers resting by the 'Spinnerin am Kreuz' and Vienna in the distance, the cup with a Napoleonic scene within a burnished gilt frame depicting two wounded soldiers and a proclamation dated 15th August 1809, the cup: 6cm high; the saucer: 14cm diam., shield marks in underglaze-blue, both impressed 809, the saucer with impressed 9, the cup with 47 and 4 (2)
