A Meissen model of a sparrow hawk, circa 1740

Modelled by J.J. Kaendler, naturalistically modelled and coloured, the sparrow hawk perched on a tree stump, in the process of devouring a lark, his wings hanging by his body, a beetle hiding behind the wing tip, the tree stump studded with fungi and applied leaves, 29cm high (restored)
