An Egyptian turquoise glazed composition plaque of Duamutef
Late Period, 26th Dynasty, circa 664-525 B.C.
The flat-backed rectangular plaque depicting in relief one of the Four Sons of Horus, Duamutef, pierced at the top and bottom for attachment, 1.5cm x 4.3cm

The German archaeologist Émile Brugsch was the first European to enter the Tomb of the Royal Mummies at Deir el-Bahri in 1881. He was also assistant conservator of the Bulaq and Cairo Museums (1881-1914). For two Late Period examples of Sons of Horus plaques, see C.
