Footnotes

Property from the Estate of Monique Van Vooren

Monique Van Vooren lived a life that can only be dreamed. A Hollywood actress, singer, author and songwriter, she made her movie debut in Tomorrow Is Too Late, a 1950 Italian drama with Vittorio De Sica. Her highly eclectic resume included roles in the 1953 classic Tarzan and the She-Devil, Ten Thousand Bedrooms (1957), Oliver Stone›s Wall Street (1987) and Flesh for Frankenstein (1974), a 3D film produced by Andy Warhol.

Van Vooren found fans in many places. She was a panellist on numerous game shows, starred in the Broadway musical John Murray Anderson's Almanack, and also had a career as a singer. Later, she was known for her cabaret performances, and in 1981 she published her first and only novel, Night Sanctuary. Her personal collection of photographs include shots of herself with Rudolf Nureyev, Andy Warhol, Elvis Presley and David Bowie.

Known for her wit, charm and great beauty, Ms. Van Vooren's personal collection of jewellery - including timeless pieces by Tiffany & Co., Chanel, David Webb, and Bulgari - reflect her inimitable style and glamour. The following lots offer a rare window into the personal life of an ardent New Yorker and fashionable entertainer adored by audiences across the world.
