Bound together in modern crimson levant by Riviere & Son, spine gilt, title to upper cover and spine, gilt dentelle, green silk moiré endpapers, a.e.g. Occasional spots mainly in margins, a few red marks to some plates, binding with some stray marks, upper joint starting.

FIRST EDITIONS. Tooley considers the first title "among the largest and finest of Alken's plates" and notes that it is a "very rare series." Tooley 23, 32 & 49.
