Moldavites, found in a "splash field" around Moldavia in former Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic), were formed when a meteorite struck the Earth's surface about 15 million years ago, melting and fusing the surrounding rock. The present example is faceted as a circular-cut bright, leaf-green stone with excellent luster, RHC4302, and it was custom-cut for Rock. Weighing approximately 3.0 carats and measuring 10.09 x 6.41 mm
