A four-case lacquer inro and a three-case lacquered-wood inro

Edo period (1615-1868), 18th/19th century
The first decorated in gold and red takamaki-e and gold and black togidashi maki-e and kirikane on a kinji ground gradually changing to a bronze color, with a crane by a stream and young pine tree and camellias, the interior cases nashiji lacquer; fitted with a bead ojime with plum blossoms in mother-of-pearl, and a manju netsuke decorated with chrysanthemums in gold hiramaki-e; the second decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e on an undecorated wood ground with pine, plum and bamboo, inscribed Hokkyo Korin and sealed Hoshuku
