An inlaid porcelain trumpet vase

The porcelain vase with a wide trumpet mouth, applied with two handles fitted with loose rings, with slip-inlay designs of phoenixes and longevity characters within decorative borders, the base with vertical lappets, the whole covered in a delicate celadon glaze, stamped on the base in the biscuit Makuzu; with a hardwood stand

Footnotes

The second Makuzu Kozan (Hanzan) took over the family business 1931, having played a major role in managing the famous Yokohama workshop from the 1880s. He continued to produce porcelains broadly in the same Chinese and Korean styles until his death in 1940.
