The circular dish set on a ring foot and painted with a scene of a mounted samurai and his attendants by a temple building and a low wall, all members of the party looking back as if reacting to a disturbance, one of the attendants carrying a battle standard, the rim with a cloud band, all in polychrome enamels and gilt on a clear, crackled glaze, signed on the underside in gilt Satsuma Hozan
