A Satsuma dish
Meiji era (1868-1912), circa 1900

Painted in polychrome enamels and gilt, raised in low relief with a pair of phoenixes in flight surrounded by chrysanthemums among stylized leaf-shaped reserves of various geometric designs, and cherry blossoms, the underside painted with scrolling vines and blossoms, signed in a gourd-shaped reserve Kinkozan tsukuru and Hyakubaku ga, and with impressed mark Kinkozan
With a wood tomobako storage box with a paper label inscribed Kinkozan kinran e ozara (Kinkozan gold brocade large plate)
