Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th century
Circular and set on tripod feet, painted in polychrome enamels and gilt over a clear, crackled glaze, the cover decorated with a mountainous landscape with a temple complex and an overlapping circular panel with beauties and children beneath blossoming cherry trees, the sides of the box decorated with chrysanthemum blossoms floating on swirling waters, the edges with a key fret or zigzag design, the feet with scattered lotus petals, the interior with a beauty and child before a stand of chrysanthemums, repeated on the underside of the cover, signed on the underside of the box Yamamoto
