Made in Florence, Italy
Spectacular stone inlay, world wide localitites, handcrafted in Italy. A stunningly tessellated work of lapidary art. This one-of-a-kind tabletop is composed of 37 bands of beautiful natural stones. The concentric bands forming the outer areas of this impressive wonder consist of thing, precisely inlaid strips of lapis lazuli, black onyx, calcite, amazonite, ruby-in-zoisite, rhyolite, malachite, tiger's eye quartz, rhodochrosite, crinodal marble, fossil stromatolites, various jaspers, picture stone, tiger iron, onyx, agate, marble, mookaite, etc. This halo of rainbow colors frames a black onyx center featuring an inlaid array of fosssil ammonites from Madagascar--their swirling curved patterns offereing a strong contrast to the precisely straight stone lines. These ancient ammonites swam in the Sahara Sea during the lower Cretaceous some 100 million years ago. Measuring 67 x 30 x 1 3/4 in (76.2 x 170.2 x 4.4 cm)
