BIEDERMEIER DESIGN.

Facon-Zeitung fuer Toepfer, Fayance=, Steingut=, Topfwaren= und Offen=Fabrikanten. Leipzig: Boehme, 1845-1847.
Large 8vo (280 x 180 mm). Year One through Year Three (all published), 108 plates, including 87 colored lithographs, some with added gilt and/or hand-colored highlights. Contemporary three-quarter green morocco and marbled boards, spine gilt, original front wrapper bound in, other wrappers preserved as lists of plates. Occasional minor staining throughout.

A COMPLETE SET of a rare periodical which acted as a source for designers in the Biedermeier period in Germany. Many of the porcelain designs are by Conrad Weissner, who worked as a porcelain painter in a factory in Regensburg. There are also many designs for stoves by Franz Fink. Other artists include Carl Meyer, Friedrich Funk and Hugo Finck.
