7 parts in 1 volume. 8vo (221 x 140 mm). 68 hand-colored engraved plates. Modern half green morocco. Lacking first and second part wrappers, replaced in facsimile, 60 mm tear to one text page, foxing.

FIRST EDITION of this rarity of American natural history books. Produced at the utopian New Harmony Community in Indiana, the last part was published after Say's death by Timothy Abbott Conrad. Nissen ZBI 3614; Sabin 77368.
