Written during Einstein's time at Caltech in Pasadena, he informs the Pacifist Students of California that he in unable to appear at their presentation. In part, translated: "[Further, is is not in the sense of the Oberlaender Trust to whom I am indebted for my trip this year to California that the speech held under its auspices be affected in its effective from more or less similar speeches by me of fairly similar content.
