A Sufi genealogy of the al-Qadiri order, in scroll form, copied by Shaykh Suleyman al-Qadiri, for Ahmed Semim al-Qadiri
Ottoman Turkey, dated AH 1210/AD 1795-96

Ottoman Turkish and Arabic manuscript on European watermarked paper, in scroll form, several sheets of paper joined together, the text written in naskhi script, each name incorporated in a roundel, with the names of God, the angels Israfil, Mikail and Jibra'il, the Prophet Muhammad, the Four Companions, the Twelve Imams and senior sufis (including Abdul Qadir al-Gilani) picked out in red ink, and enclosed in a series of concentric bands, all surmounted by an illuminated triangle flanked by two roundels incorporating the names Allah and Muhammad, the remainder of the Sufi genealogy written in black ink, lines connecting roundels and inner margins drawn in black ink
