A Fine Pair Of Silver-Mounted 32-Bore Flintlock Duelling Pistols

With slightly swamped octagonal sighted barrels retaining some browned finish (minor rust patination), signed with second form of signature along the top flat and engraved with a band of beadwork at the rear of the breech, gold-lined touch-holes, tangs engraved with foliage against a matted ground, case-hardened detented locks each retained by two side-nails and with moulded border, second form of signature, stepped tail, and two rollers working on a blued divided steel-spring, the border engraved steels each with pan safety-cover released by a sprung stud (top of one cock expertly replaced), finely figured full stocks (some old bruising) each carved in relief with a shell behind the barrel tang, rounded flat-sided butts, trigger-guards each with second pattern acorn finial and decorated with a flower-head in a diamond-shaped panel on the border engraved bow, turned ramrod-pipes, blued trigger-plates and adjustable set triggers, original horn-tipped ramrods, and some original finish, London proof marks (2)
