A Pair Of 20-Bore Flintlock Holster Pistols
By Ketland & Co., Circa 1785

With slightly swamped octagonal barrels each with silver spider fore-sight and an engraved band of beadwork at the rear of the breech, border engraved tangs decorated with foliated rocailles, signed flat bevelled locks each with large roller, figured full stocks (fore-ends repaired) each carved with a shell behind the barrel tang, iron mounts comprising engraved pierced ribbon side-plates, vacant oval escutcheons each chiselled with a flower-head above and a pedestal below, border engraved spurred pommels each with stepped cap and decorated with flower-heads, trigger-guards each with acorn finial and engraved with a flower-head within a rectangular panel on the bow, turned ramrod-pipes, and horn-tipped ramrods (some old pitting), Birmingham proof marks (2)
