A Pair Of Irish 20-Bore Flintlock Officer's Pistols
By Whitney, Probably Patrick, Cork, Circa 1800

With octagonal sighted barrels each engraved 'Cork' along the top flat, foliate engraved tangs, signed border engraved flat bevelled locks (one top jaw and screw missing) with rollers, figured full stocks (one chipped on one side at the muzzle) each with flat-sided rounded butt, brass mounts comprising border engraved ovoidal side-nail plates, escutcheons, one engraved with owner's initials 'AM', trigger-guards each with pineapple finial and engraved with a flower-head on the bow, turned ramrod-pipes, and original wooden ramrods with iron worms, one with horn tip (minor rust patination), Tower private proof marks (2)
