A 25-Bore Flintlock Duelling Pistol
By Twigg, London, Late 18th Century

Reconverted from percussion, with rebrowned octagonal sighted barrel engraved 'London' along the top flat, plain tang, signed flat bevelled lock, figured full stock (some old bruising and minor repairs) with chequered partly faceted butt, the pommel left plain, steel trigger-guard with acorn finial, white-metal escutcheon engraved with owner's monogram between foliage, turned ramrod-pipes (forward one replaced), and horn-tipped ramrod with iron worm (some wear overall), indistinct proof marks
