A Cased Irish 31-Bore Percussion Rifled Over-And-Under Single-Trigger Pistol
By Trulock & Son, 9 Dawson St., Dublin, Circa 1840

With etched twist octagonal sighted barrels each rifled with fifteen grooves, the top barrel engraved with the address within an unetched panel, foliate engraved case-hardened breech-block with pierced platinum plugs, signed border engraved case-hardened back-action locks each decorated with foliate scrollwork and with blued safety-catch, dolphin hammers decorated en suite (the right one a working replacement), chequered figured rounded butt, blued border engraved steel mounts decorated with foliate scrollwork and comprising shaped butt-cap and trigger-guard, and retaining much of its original finish: in later lined and fitted oak case with some accessories including brass-mounted Sykes powder-flask (cut-off spring incomplete) retaining some of its original finish, the exterior of the lid with circular vacant brass escutcheon
