With etched damascus twist octagonal sighted barrels, foliate engraved breeches each engraved 'London' in gothic script on the top flat, border engraved tangs and back-action locks decorated with foliage, the latter each signed in gothic script, foliate engraved dolphin hammers (one nose chipped), figured half-stocks (one fore-end with old internal split) each with rounded spur and chequered butt, the latter each with flat ovoidal pommel set with a vacant white-metal escutcheon, shaped vacant white-metal escutcheon opposite each lock, white-metal barrel-bolt escutcheons and fore-end caps, spur trigger-guards each with pineapple finial, decorated with scrolling foliage on the border engraved bow and retaining some blueing, adjustable set triggers, and later brass-tipped ramrods: in original mahogany case fitted and lined in plum velvet with a few accessories including brass-mounted powder-flask, the exterior of the lid (old split, one corner chipped) with shaped brass escutcheon engraved 'N.P. Tyson Balto' and incorporating a flush-fitting carrying handle, Birmingham proof marks
