An 18-Bore Flintlock D.B. Sporting Gun

With earlier continental russet sighted barrels retaining traces of original blueing, silver fore-sight centred on gold-damascened foliage, breeches stamped and gilt with foliage and rocailles surmounted by a basket of flowers, and each stamped with unidentified crowned maker's mark retaining traces of original gold lining, gold-lined touch-holes, plain grooved tang, signed border engraved flat locks each decorated with game birds in a landscape at the stepped tail, the latter with a starburst, and with rainproof pan, roller and foliate engraved cock, figured half-stock with cheek-piece, chequered grip and fore-end, border engraved steel mounts (some rust patination) retaining traces of original blueing and comprising butt-plate decorated with game birds in a landscape on the heel of the tang, scroll trigger-guard with a martial trophy and foliage on the bow, trigger-plate with pineapple finial, silver rear ramrod-pipe en suite, vacant silver escutcheon, and later horn-tipped ramrod with iron worm
