An 11-Bore Flintlock Sporting Gun

With two-stage barrel (pitted) swamped towards the muzzle and with silver fore-sight, the breech flat engraved with a foliate rocaille and stamped 'pro' 'ved' on the left top flat, grooved engraved tang, later lock (some pitting, steel spring replaced) stamped 'W. Smart Gloucester' and engraved with a starburst, figured half-stock (fore-end reduced) inlaid with a silver wire scallop shell and scrolls around the barrel tang, border engraved brass mounts comprising shaped flat side-plate decorated with a rocaille and foliage, butt-plate decorated en suite on the heel tang, vacant escutcheon on a pedestal, a shell above, trigger-guard with a flower-head on the bow and acorn finial, brass ramrod-pipes (some damage), and original horn-tipped ramrod with iron worm
