A Rare .350 Percussion Prince's Patent Breech-Loading Rifled Carbine
By Reilly, New Oxford Street, London, No. 10738, Circa 1855

With browned twist two-stage sighted barrel sliding forwards for loading and rifled with five bright grooves, the rear section signed along the top, fitted with two folding leaf back-sights each with central platinum line, and engraved 'X44' at the rear, border engraved case-hardened breech engraved 'Prince's Patent' on the top flat, border engraved case-hardened tang, signed back-action lock and hammer, the lock numbered 10438 on the inside, figured half-stock (some old bruising) with chequered grip, border engraved blued steel mounts comprising butt-plate and trigger-guard, the latter with blued sliding catch on the bow for securing the detachable bolt, the latter operating within a blued guide-plate, blued fore-end cap also forming a barrel-band, vacant white-metal escutcheon, and much original finish
