With browned twist sighted barrels signed in full along the rib and with bright bores, case-hardened breeches each with pierced platinum plug and engraved between with a partridge in a landscape above a foliate scroll, border engraved case-hardened tang engraved with scrolling foliage involving a hanging brace of pheasants, signed border engraved case-hardened back-action locks decorated with a pheasant perched amid foliage and with two cock pheasants in a landscape on the tail, foliate engraved dolphin hammers, lightly figured half-stock (fore-end with two minor repairs) with chequered grip, border engraved blued steel mounts comprising butt-plate (some loss of finish) decorated with foliate scrollwork on the heel tang, trigger-guard with tang en suite and with pheasants in a landscape on the bow, trigger-plate finial engraved with a scallop shell and fox's mask, blued pineapple-shaped rear ramrod-pipe, original brass-mounted ramrod, and much of its original finish: in original lined and fitted mahogany case with accessories including lift-out mahogany box with sliding cover and fitted for an original mainspring-clamp, T-shaped combination tool with turnscrew blade, double-ended brush and jag, two powder-flasks, one of artillery type, leather case for a three-piece ramrod, and a leather shot-belt in very fine condition, the interior of the lid with maker's trade label, the exterior with flush-fitting brass carrying handle centred on a circular brass escutcheon engraved with owner's crest and initials, London proof marks
