A Flemish Flintlock Box-Lock Blunderbuss-Pistol With Spring Bayonet
Early 19th Century, Probably Liège

With brass cannon barrel and action in one piece, the former turned at the muzzle and fitted with folding bayonet beneath, the latter engraved with a differing design of foliage on each side, reinforced cock, thumbpiece safety-catch, sliding trigger-guard engraved with a flower-head on the bow, figured rounded butt carved with a half flower-head behind the action and with a panel of chequering on both sides, vacant silver escutcheon, and original horn-tipped ramrod (rear ramrod-pipe loose)
